Helping you Find Great Niches

Write something to describe your blog

You may find that at times, trying to find a new niche is actually not the problem at all.

But rather, it's trying to choose among several good niche topics. So how do you choose which one to start with?

I believe that the most important aspects to consider are your interest in the niche and the future potential growth of the winning choice.

First, you should consider if the niche is an evergreen choice and not subject to temporary highs (i.e. Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas, etc), since you would likely prefer to earn a steady annual income.

One of the handiest tricks to identifying an evergreen niche is by using the Google Trends at http://www.google.com/trends.

Note, that if your niche has more than one word be sure to surround those words with apostrophes. And you want to compare more than one niche at a time, then separate each set of keywords by a comma.

(i.e. "dog breeds", "dog names","dog training")

The next element to consider is if the niche has the potential for growth through various backend products. If your niche were "Dog Training", then you should be building relationships with your clients and, over time, expose them to other "Dog" related products. These could include such areas as "Dog Grooming", "Dog Flea Control" and so on.

When choosing your winning niche, be sure to also identify who your target market will be. In the example of "Dog Training", will your market audience be young mothers with school aged children or recent widowers who have a dog for companionship.

Once you have identified an evergreen niche and your target audience, then you can begin assembling some of the blueprint components for your new website.

Dan and Ed have been creating and posting some top notch materials on Niche Research and Facebook advertising techniques. What are you waiting for?

In the January 30th blog posting, Dan threw a little loving recognition my way for “putting together that PDF”. I do appreciate that Dan.

But he went and included (4) in-depth Niche Research articles that blows the doors off of my little old PDF. Serious stuff for serious marketers … that could be you.

You got to be in awe of that “BrainStorming Niches” mind map too.

This mind map has all of the best places to hunt for niches, such as key websites, magazines and many other confidential locations. If people want to get on the fast track, they need to sign up and be part of the Immediate Edge community.

Looking over to Ed Dale, he was so kind to mention this new website over on his Twitter page . If you’re not following him, you’re missing out on some great tidbits. So Ed, I just wanted to say that I appreciate all you do for the Immediate Edge community.

In today’s Immediate Edge blog , Ed posted an amazing inside look at how Facebook is definitely worth our advertising investment. He even showed us his private numbers.

Is he allowed to do that?

Either way you slice it, the Immediate Edge is the place to be if you want to get on top of your game. Just do it today.

GTrends Update

According to an email from Janis, the creator of GTrends SE , you may need to make some changes in your settings.

Some people are finding that the reference keyword phrase "male yeast infection" is no longer working. In fact, you may be getting errors within the Search column.

Janis recommends choosing a new keyword phrase with known daily searches in the 400 to 600 range. This way, you’ll still receive data that was similar to your previous runs.

I feel that the returned values are not to be used as 100 percent accurate, but more as a relativity guide when choosing which keywords to work with first.

You can find additional information on the tool, including updated news on other developing issues at his GTrends website.

I want to personally thank Janis for all his work on creating this tool and for his unending desire to keep his clients happy. Service at GTrends SE is top shelf.

Well, after spending the day helping out within the Immediate Edge community, I decided to throw together this Joomla based website.

Nothing fancy yet, but perhaps it will evolve with your help.

You will notice that each of the articles have a Comment area. So by all means, let me have it ... the good, the bad and the not so ugly.

If you just want to download the PDF document that started it all, you can do that too.

And of course, if you have any suggestions, please use the Contact feature to send me a note.

Good luck to you all in 2008!
